Pei Sheet Over Glass

Pei polymer is extruded by ensinger in sheet and rod shapes using sabic s ultem resin. At 70c pla isn t sticking to it. This matches what i generally used on glass. All plates and magnets are inspected to ensure full functionality to make sure they meet our standards for them.

In addition i ve used gluestick to avoid pet sticking too much on the pei as recommended. Ultem 2300 is a 30 glass reinforced grade of ultem pei and is the most common filled ultem grade. I ve run glass the craptastic preforated sheet that shipped with my printer painter s tape kapton tape and pei and vastly prefer the latter out of all of them. It just sort of peels right off and printing circles and arcs is impossible as the extruded plastic just doesn t stick to the bed.

As the interface between the printer and the printed object the print surface sees the most abuse of any part on your 3d printer and will likely need to be replaced at some point during the life of the printer. While this pei surface on my printer bed is good for adhesion i had serious problems getting this sheet to stick to either the aluminum bed or a glass plate even using 3m 468 adhesive. I m looking for experience about printing petg on the smooth pei. Smooth pei plates may have a non uniform appearance under the pei as that is the adhesive visible through the pei sheet this is normal. Place the edge of pei that you peeled away flush with one side of the bed. Everything i ve used just sticks to pei with no glue or hair spray or anything else required.

The problem is that the sheet of pei i received was warped about 1 2 over 12 inches length.
